A Drone Over Dalai Lama’s Residence Creates Security Panic

A drone flying over the residence of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the North Indian town of Dharamshala has created a security panic. The security officials of the spiritual leader was sent into a tizzy on Tuesday due to an unknown drone flying over the premise of his residence.

“A drone over the residence of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama threw the security officials into a tizzy on Tuesday leading to panic in the hill town. However, the drop was confiscated and a probe launched.” said the report in the Times of India on Wednesday.

The report added that the drone found was being operated by a US professor who had come to McLeodganj to have an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The audience was fixed for Wednesday and the professor is a part of the group seeking audience with the spiritual leader.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, widely celebrated as a spiritual leader around the world, residing in the North Indian town since last sixty years has been provided special category security by the government of India. According to the Kangra police, the professor told that he was capturing the scenic beauty of the town with the drone.

The police has confiscated the drone along with the mobile phone attached with it. While a detailed report of the incident is being prepared by the police team, the drone is being checked at the forensic lab.
