A Bomb hits the United States Embassy in China!

According to reports, a bomb has hit the United States Embassy in China on Thursday afternoon. The large explosion in front of the embassy in China’s capital Beijing which was heard by people from several blocks away and it also led to a huge fume of white smoke in the air above the embassy according to the accounts of the witnesses there.

“There was an explosion at approximately 1pm today in the public space off the South East corner of the Embassy compound,” an embassy spokesperson said on Thursday afternoon adding that after the security officials, a 26-year-old man from Inner Mongolia set off the small detonator.

“According to the Embassy’s Regional Security Officer, there was one individual who detonated a bomb. Other than the bomber, there were no injuries. The local police responded.” added the spokesperson.

While many witnesses shared their accounts of the incident on social media and it is also reported in the local reports that attacker intended to throw the detonator inside the compound of the embassy. However, the detonator exploded before he could throw it over the fence and even injured his hand.

The US Embassy has heavy security measures, including a bulletproof glass wall, and is America’s third-largest diplomatic mission in the world, behind its embassies in Baghdad and Yerevan according to the report in Southburnett Times. The embassy is now closed to the surrounding corridors it added.
