China Hunting Tibetans Having the Dalai Lama Pictures

China is hunting down on Tibetans having their spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama pictures according to the report from Voice of Tibet on Thursday. Tibetans from Serta county have have searched for possession and display of the portrait of His Holiness in their homes, prayer room altars and the monasteries in January this year.

A reforming Chinese leader from Kardze prefecture, traditionally a part of Kham province of Tibet had visit the Serta county and imposed a thorough search at the monasteries and the Tibetan communities to hunt down for the possession of portraits of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a common practice for Tibetans to display it in their prayer rooms.

According to the report in Voice of Tibet, under the order of the Chinese leader, local institutes and monasteries were inspected and ordered for the denouncement of child monks from the institutions as well. In addition to searching for the pictures, those who had travelled to Nepal and India for pilgrimage were questioned of what the Dalai Lama had advised them and confiscated their passports with which they had travelled out of the country!

While the Tibetans spiritual leader is announced as a terrorist by the Chinese authorities, even the possession of his pictures is a serious crime for the Tibetans that could land them to imprisonment under China! Increasingly imposing political control over the religious practices of Tibetans, China is aiming at recognising a puppet as the next Dalai Lama just as they did in the case of reincarnation of the 11th Panchen Lama.

However, as the politicising of Tibetan religious belief began, His Holiness the Dalai Lama while not ascertaining whether there will be a next Dalai Lama or not, he firmly clarified that if there happens to be a reincarnation of him, the reincarnation will be born in a free country.
