CTSA schools transfer likely to be completed by March 2018 according to the response from Sherig Kalon in the on going sessions of Tibetan Parliament in Exile. In response to a query from an MP regarding the status of CTSA schools transfer, the Kalon told that the transfer is likely to be completed by March next year.
“Till now a total of 47 CTSA schools comprised of 33 pre-primary schools, 9 primary schools and 5 middle schools having been transferred to the Sambhota Tibetan Schools administered by the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamshala and doing well. The remaining 14 CTSA schools have been promised to be transferred by March 2018.” said the Sherig Kalon Mr. Ngodup Tsering in response to Member of Parliament, Mr. Khenpo Jamphel Tenzin’s query.
Expressing the concern over the disturbance being induced to the students in this prolonged process of schools administrative transfer, the Kalon explained that they, led by Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay have met the respective Indian officials more than 76 times in the mean time while there has been continuous shuffles of responsible authorities.
In brief, the Kalon explained that the department is working hard at meeting the needs of students in these schools, be it in providing additional resource persons, coaching classes to the class 12 students or be it providing special classes for specific subjects.
