Dalai Lama Condoles Passing Away of Sushma Swaraj

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has sent his condolences on the passing away of veteran Indian politician Sushma Swaraj. His Holiness has expressed that the late Indian politician has used her life meaningfully dedicating for public service. The Tibetan spiritual leader has called her as a compassionate person.

On receiving reports today of the passing away of veteran Indian politician and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his sympathy in a letter to her husband Kaushal Swaraj.

“I offer my prayers and my condolences to you and your family at this difficult time,” His Holiness wrote according to the official website of his office. “Shrimati Swaraj enjoyed immense respect for her compassionate concern for people and her friendly demeanour. In devoting herself to the service of others, she led a very meaningful life.”

Besides His Holiness, the President of Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamshala has issued a condolence message to the grieved family. President Dr. Lobsang Sangay has said he was deeply saddened to hear that the veteran Indian leader and staunch supporter of Tibet is no more.

The BJP leader and former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday after she was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on suffering a heart attack. She died late Tuesday night at the AIIMS after suffering a cardiac attack. She was just 67.
