Dalai Lama to Grace Association of Indian Universities Meet in Sarnath

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is reported scheduled to grace the 92nd annual meet of the Association of Indian Universities which is going to take place at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), Sarnath. The Tibetan spiritual leader will inaugurate the annual meet on March 19 according to reports.

“According to the letter sent to the vice chancellors and directors by the AIU secretary general Prof. Furqan Qamar, the meet will be inaugurated by the Tibetan spiritual leader on March 19.” said the report on Times of India on Tuesday.

It is also report that a national seminar on ‘higher education in the era of innovation, entrepreneurship and disruptive technology with focus on human values in the age of disruption’ will be held on the inaugural occasion presided by His Holiness.

The Tibetan spiritual leader had last visited the CIHTS in the end of December last year, before heading on to Bodh Gaya for his month long sojourn at the holy place. His Holiness inaugurated the three day conference on Mind at the premier institute for Tibetan studies while His Holiness also graced the Golden Jubilee celebration of Central Institute of Higher Studies on January 1 this year.

CIHTS will be hosting the 92nd annual meet of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) from March 19 to 21.

“At the general session proposals relating higher education with special reference to university system in the country will be discussed apart from the recommendations of AIU zonal vice chancellors’ meet 2017-18. Further, an interaction with heads of foreign sister organizations dealing with higher education will also be held on the inaugural day.” added the report in TOI.
