Dalai Lama to Meet Muslim Communities Leaders from India

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has informed during an interaction with a group of Iranian CEOs that he will be attending a meeting of Muslim representatives from India in New Delhi later this week. His Holiness also added that he is looking forward to the meeting to celebrate diversity in the country.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama met 58 members of Iranian  CEOs of small and medium sized enterprises who describe themselves as messengers of peace. During the meeting, His Holiness explained about his three commitments of his life; promotion of human values, religious harmony and the Tibetan cause.

The Tibetan spiritual leader while explaining about religious harmony, he condemned people fighting and killing each other in the name of religion across the world. He said that such action is unthinkable. His Holiness lauded the religious harmony present in India, especially the restoration of harmony between Sunnis and Shias in India.

“These days to see people fighting and killing each other in the name of religion, whether in Egypt, Burma or Afghanistan, is really unthinkable. Next week in Delhi I’ll be attending a meeting to celebrate diversity among Indian Muslims. I’ve heard no reports of friction between Sunnis and Shias in India, so I’ve encouraged my friends in Ladakh to take more active steps to reconcile differences between their brothers and sisters of different denominations.” said His Holiness according to the official report.

“I’m looking forward to the coming meeting and hope that representatives of the embassies of various Muslim countries will also attend. I believe it will be an opportunity to promote religious harmony.” His Holiness the Dalai Lama added. The report by CTA also explained that the Tibetan Muslim community representatives will also be present at the meeting schedule in New Delhi.
