The act of god has been kind this time for the entire people on board of the Emirates flight EK521 that crash landed at Dubai airport but with all of the on board safe and sound. But for one of the passengers from this epic escape, an Indian working in the UAE meets a fairy tale sort of destiny as just six days after the escape, he wins a $1m Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire lottery!
Mohamed Basheer Abdul Khadar, 61 who could be called as one of the luckiest man in this context was returning from his native state Kerala in India to Dubai after Muslim Eid holidays. He has been working in the UAE for the last 37 years and his retirement was due last December. He works for a car dealer and he had agreed to work another year against his retirement age as per requests of his employers.
He told the news reporters that he had acquired a habit of buying the lottery tickets before returning to India and this winning ticket was the 17th one he bought.
“I feel like God gave me a second life when I survived the plane crash, and blessed me with this money to follow all this up by doing good things.” said the lucky winner, “I value the escape as a more precious gift from God and I knew God saved me for some specific purpose. Probably this is it.”
He also said that after his retirement this December, he hopes to return to India and get involved with some organization engaged with providing help for needy children.
