Life Sentence Announced For Three Indians Who Killed Tibetan Youth

Life sentence has been announce for the three Indians who killed Tibetan youth in Dharamshala, India according to the Tibetan report in Bangchen.net. The Tibetan advocate who has been prosecuting the case against three Indian youth who stabbed Tibetan youth to death years ago announce that the court has announced life sentence to the culprits.

The Tibetan advocate Kunsang Topden has informed to the query about the judgement that the three culprits in the case where three Indian youths stabbed a Tibetan youth to death around mid-night in October 30, 2015, has been sentenced to life imprisonment in addition to a fine of Rs. 50,000 each by the Kangra District court today. They were also directed that they can appeal at higher courts if they wanted to defend further.

This should come as little relief to the family members and the acquaintances of the deceased after more than two years of struggle to bring justice.

Tsultrim Chokden (deceased victim) was walking down the lane on the McLeodganj-Bhagsunag road around 11:30 pm on October 30, 2015 along with his female friend (sole witness) when three local youth travelling on a motorcycle passed indecent comments on his friend. The verbal duel between Tsultrim and the local youths led to them stabbing him repeatedly in the stomach. The three accused, Kailash from Dosalani village near McLeodganj, Rinku from Balaher village near Shahpur and Mahesh Kumar from Ramba village, were remanded in judicial custody following two days of the incident.

The advocate had earlierĀ appealed the Tibetan NGOs and the local population to pay more attention towards the case. He also requested the heads of NGOs to attend the hearings in support of the deceased. The district had earlier also rejected the bail pleas by the three culprits to remain out of custody until a judgement was made by the court.
