The Buddhist spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama said that India has a great potential in the modern world. His Holiness was speaking at the 2nd National Teacher’s Congress in Pune today as the chief guest, told that combination of modernity and ancient Indian knowledge is very much needed today, referring to that potential.
“India has a great potential. A combination of modernity and ancient Indian knowledge, that is what the world really needs. All my explanations come from India. Indians should pay more attention to this knowledge and rigorously should revive these things,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama told while speaking to the media in Pune.
According to the report in official website of CTA, 21st century should imbibe peace, dialogue, disarmament and oneness of humanity. In order to create peaceful century, first we need to promote compassionate mind through education, His Holiness the Dalai Lama exhorted 5000 plus teachers of post graduate and undergraduate colleges of all disciplines from India and 1000 teachers of Indian origin serving globally.
The Tibetan spiritual leader has already announced reviving the ancient Nalanda traditions in India as one of his life commitments and called upon the Indians to pay more attention towards the ancient Indian knowledge.
While asked about the recent violent clashes between Maratha and Dalit communities of Maharashtra near by Pune, the spiritual leader told that people should not mobilise or create groups of religion due to the fact that religion being a personal choice.
“Religion is a personal business, whatever religion one follows, it is a personal matter. We should not mobilise or create groups and tag anybody as ‘We Buddhists, We Muslims or We Hindus…” told the spiritual guru condemning the violent clashes that took place in the name of religion and caste.
The Tibetan spiritual leader will return to Bodh Gaya on January 11 and resume his ongoing month long sojourn at the holy place.
