Contrary to Authorities, Jokhang Shows Signs of Fire Damage
Though the Chinese authorities issued confirmation that the Jokhang temple was unaffected by the fire incident in the temple premises on last Saturday, on the second day of Tibetan New Year, Jokhang showed signs of fire damage after it was reopened for public, three days following the incident.

Dalai Lama Congratulates New South African President
The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Tuesday congratulated the new South African president in a letter after the successful transfer of government to the new political head. The well known exiled spiritual leader expressed his optimism in the new government in making further progress in prosperity and development of the country.
