Earthquake with 6.9 Magnitude Hits Tibet, Tremors Felt in Arunachal Pradesh

Tibet has been rocked by an earthquake which measures 6.9 on the Richter scale. On Saturday morning, Tibets Nyinchi province which is close to Arunachal Pradesh was hit by an earthquake.
Around 6:34 AM (Beijing), the China Earthquake Networks Center recorded the earthquake. Chinese state-run media Xinhua reported that the quake struck with a depth of about 10KM.

Xi Jingping Tells Tibetan Families Living Near Arunachal Pradesh Settle near Indian Border

Chinese President Xi Jingping, in a recent letter addressed to a herding family in Lhunze County in Tibet, told the families to settle themselves near the Indian border so that there would be “peace in the territory”. China Renames 6 Places In Arunachal Pradesh Post Dalai Lama’s Visit

The Chinese government, amid the diplomatic tussle after Dalai Lama’s visit to Tawang, has renamed six places in Arunachal Pradesh that it says belongs to Southern Tibet.
The renaming of the places took place on April 13, a day after the Tibetan spiritual leader concluded his 9-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh. China saw Dalai Lama’s visit to India as a boisterous diplomatic venture and warned that consequences would follow after his visit.
