A large number of Tibetan refugees in India depend on the seasonal sales of warm clothing in Indian cities as a source of their livelihoods. This year Tibetans are hope to sell the leftover stocks remaining from the sales impact incurred due to demonetization at the end of the year 2016 so that they do go into losses.

CTA Gets Indian Finance Ministry Assurance Of Help During Kalachakra Post-demonitization

A delegation led by the Sikyong of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr. Lobsang Sangay and New Delhi Representative Dongchung Ngodup met Dr. Saurabh Garg, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance India in Delhi yesterday to seek assurance of special help during the Kalachakra Post-demonitization. Sikyong had just arrived back from Bodh Gaya where he went for an inspection of the preparations going on for the upcoming 34th Kalachakra initiations in the beginning of January 2017.
