India’s First Female Superstar Sridevi Dies of Cardiac Arrest

In a shocking news this morning, the legendary Bollywood beauty queen Sridevi had passed away of a cardiac arrest while in Dubai. The fans and the film fraternity of Bollywood industry has been shocked from the news and messages of condolences is pouring out in the social media.

The veteran actress who had gone along with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding in Dubai and reportedly died on Saturday night of a terrible cardiac arrest. The Bollywood actress was just 54 years old.

According to a TOI source close to the actress had confirmed of the report, “Yes it’s true. She was in Dubai while some of the other family members came back to India. We hear it’s cardiac arrest.”

While some of her family members returned from Dubai after the wedding, Sridevi, Boney and her younger daughter Khushi stayed back. Her elder daughter Janhvi did not accompany the family due to her shooting schedule, added the report in TOI.

Sridevi Kapoor, born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan on 13 August 1963 was an Indian actress and film producer who starred in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films. Regarded as Indian cinema’s first “female superstar”, she was the recipient of five Filmfare Awards. Sridevi ranked amongst the highest-paid actors in the 1980s and 1990s and is considered to be the most popular actress of the era.
