Regionalism Biggest Internal Challenge of Tibetan Community: President Sangay

The president of Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala while speaking to the Tibetan community in Belgium on Sunday told that regionalism is the biggest internal challenge for the Tibetan community. The political head of Tibetan people, Dr. Lobsang Sangay, who is on a three nation tour to Europe warned against the practice of regionalism among the Tibetan communities.

“Externally it is Chinese agents and Dolgyal groups. Internally regionalism is our biggest challenge which is like drug, addictive but destructive,” President Lobsang Sangay said while addressing and interacting with the Tibetan community in Brussels, Belgium on Sunday and urged the Tibetans to be aware and vigilant of security threats posed by Dogyal protesters and their persistent baseless accusations against His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the CTA.

“The event attended by Tibetans in and around Belgium and Holland, Dr Sangay re-emphasised the need and importance of the Tibetan identity and urged the parents to take active role in inculcation of Tibetan culture and tradition and to send their children to the weekend Tibetan language schools.” told the official report in the website of Central Tibetan Administration.

Dr. Sangay informed the gathering that CTA is commemorating 2018 which marked 60 years in exile for Tibetans as Thank You Year to all the Tibet supporters and appealed the Tibetans to join in the initiatives undertaken by the respective Offices of Tibet in their respective host countries to express gratitude for their support.

According to the report, Dr Sangay also briefed on the recent news of detection of bombs in Bodh Gaya, India and urged the Tibetans to remain calm as there won’t be any compromise on the security detail of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and added that the intelligence unit and the police force of Bihar state has intensified and heightened the security in Bodh Gaya.
