China Under Pressure for Suppression of Ethnic Minorities in Tibet, Xinxiang and Hong Kong

The report of CERD, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, has ruffled feathers in Chinese leadership. The review
took place at United Nations last month in presence of Chinese delegation. The Chinese have upped the ante against ethnic Uyghurs by
putting the dissenters in ‘Re-Education’ camps. Tibetans have already been subjected to such strategies albeit without much success so far as they have been resolute to retain their distinct cultural identity.

China Restrict Tibetans Celebrating Dalai Lama Birthday in Tibet

China is imposing restriction upon the Tibetans inside Tibet as a part of the government’s campaign “criminal gangs connected to the separatist forces of the Dalai Lama” and restricting the ethnic Tibetans from making celebrations on the approaching of His Holiness the Dalai Lama birthday and it even led to two Tibetans’ arrest.

The Chinese government has issued a circular directing the local Tibetans to look out for the Dalai Lama loyalists and provide tips to their security agencies. The order from the Chinese government warns the Tibetans against the exiled spiritual leader loyalists and guides on how to report such loyalist to the security agencies.
