Tibetan Woman Appointed Provincial Secretary of Communist Party of China

A woman politician of Tibetan origin has been appointed for the first time to the post of Secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC) for the province of Fujian, a state of economic significance for China on Monday. This appointment marked the first minority ethnic woman to be appointed to such an inner sanctum of political decision making.

Now, Disrespecting Chinese National Anthem Means 3 Years Jail

China, after recently passing an amendment which would detain a person who disrespects the Chinese national anthem for 15 days in jail, has increased the sentence to 3 years. The move is in tandem with China’s objective to increase nationalistic fervour in the country. The move was passed by the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Saturday.
