Despite No Details, China Says Jokhang Fire not Arson

While the Tibetans were celebrating the second day of their new year on February 17, the holiest icon of Tibetan Buddhism, Jokhang Temple was involved in a tragic fire incident. After almost a week’s time, the Chinese officials have informed through their official mouth piece Xinhua that the Jokhang fire in Lhasa was not a deliberate crime of any human.

Tibet’s Jokhang Temple in Lhasa Safe from Fire Incident

Following the reports of a fire incident which claimed that the holiest temple of Tibetan Buddhists, the Jokhang Temple involved in the accident, the Central Tibetan Administration clarified that the temple is safe and the fire incident was not at the Jokhang temple as being claimed. Witnesses started to share their experiences of the fire incident which showed strong smoke coming out of the Jokhang premises over their social media.

In the latest trending news out breaks, the most sacred Tibetan Buddhist temple, Jokhang in Lhasa caught a major fire incident on Saturday evening. The incident was heavily reported by witnesses on the social media, which according to reports, the fire broke out in a side hall of the temple, which in a slight relief does not comprise to be the primary part of the main temple.
