China Bans India-Trained Tibetan Monks from Teaching

In a first ever move outside the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) in China occupied Tibet, officials of a county in the Sichuan province issued a letter banning the Tibetan monks who have been trained from the monasteries in India from teaching Buddhism there. It is reported as a move from the government to curb the spread of so called separatist ideas.

A Tibetan monk who completed the jail term of six years was freed from Sichuan province in a physically disable state incurred from severe torture in prison during the term. The Tibetan monk completed his full jail term and came out with permanent injuries to his legs that was caused by beatings while in the police custody.
