Tibetan Group Conclude Their Demonstration Against Sikyong

The group of Tibetans gathered in Dharamshala to demonstrate their protest against Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay concluded after the completion of the budget session of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile on Saturday. The demonstrators had gathered to the centre of Tibetan administration from across the world.

A group of Tibetan from different parts of the world had gathered in the compound of the Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamshala and held a protest against Sikyong Lobsang Sangay from March 17, 2018 and it was called off on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The representative of the protesters told that the Cabinet and the Parliament should be held responsible for all outcomes in the future as their demands were not resolved from the parliament.

On the last day of the parliament session, Sikyong Lobsang Sangay in his reply to questions raised by members of parliament regarding the ousting of former representative Penpa Tsering, told that he hopes the issue is clarified to all following the series of explanations issued both by him and his office. He also urged the general public to participate in democracy with good moral values where he warned against the misuse of social media in spreading misunderstandings among the public that destroys the unity of  Tibetan people.

However, the demonstrators spoke to the media that though they are concluding their week long protest, the cabinet and the parliament should be responsible for any future outcomes. The group called for the impeachment of Sikyong Lobsang Sangay and MP Tenpa Yarphel according to the press conference they held before the beginning of the demonstration. They had also requested the parliament to demand an independent committee to investigate the issue related to the ousting of former representative Penpa Tsering.
