Tibetans are the Most Successful Refugee Community: Dalai Lama

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Monday told to a group of young Tibetans volunteering at various fields of Central Tibetan Administration that the Tibetans as the most successful refugee community. His Holiness explained that this is true because Tibetans have carried out their responsibilities with sincerity.

A group of 15 young Tibetans coming from different parts of the world received an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Monday. His Holiness lauded the love and loyalty for Tibet shown by the young Tibetans by serving the community voluntarily in their capacity.

“It is remarkable that all of you are serving voluntarily. It represents your love and loyalty for Tibet,” His Holiness said during the audience at his residence according to the report in the official website of Central Tibetan Administration, “Tibetans are the most successful refugee community. This is true because our people have shouldered their responsibility sincerely.”

In addition to this, the Tibetan spiritual leader has also explained the importance of the Tibetan language as well as the significance of the successful running of the Central Tibetan Administration in exile for the preservation of the rich culture and traditional knowledge of the Tibetan people.

“Historically the Nalanda University was the education hub of erudite scholars and today, the complete explanation of that tradition can be found only in the Tibetan language. We have an incredibly rich literature in human psychology and logic. In that regard, we Tibetans deserve to take pride in ourselves,” His Holiness explained at the audience adding that the Tibetans are “a truly remarkable people with incredible intelligence”.

“As long as the exile Tibetan Administration is running efficiently, we will be able to preserve our rich culture and traditional knowledge. Otherwise, it will be difficult.” while at the same time, His Holiness stressed that in addition to obtaining modern education, Tibetans should study their traditional knowledge of the science of mind and physical science.
