The Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of social media giant Twitter on Saturday met with the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and thanked him for being an amazing teacher. The Twitter CEO is reported to have prioritised on meeting His Holiness during his maiden visit to India last week.
Jack Dorsey besides meeting the Tibetan spiritual leader in New Delhi, India on Saturday, posted a picture with him on his official Twitter account thanking him for being an amazing teacher. While other tech giants such as Google and Facebook at kowtowing to the Chinese pressure of censorship about Tibet and Dalai Lama, Jack Dorsey even dared to meet His Holiness.
The Twitter CEO Jack in the first tweet announced that he is going to meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and in the second tweet shared a picture of their meeting while thanking His Holiness. He also jokingly thanked His Holiness not actually pulling out his nose.
“Thank you H. H. the Dalai Lama. You’re an amazing teacher. Also: thank you for not actually pulling out my nose ring, despite a lot of painful effort.” write the CEO in the twitter on November 9.
Twitter has more than 336 million active users globally. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has 18.8 million followers and followers none. The micro-blogging giant was officially blocked in 2009 in China, like other western social media giants like Facebook, Google and so on.
