UPSC Announce Post for Tibetan Translator at Ministry of Defence

According to the latest announcement from the Union Public Service Commission, Government of India, a permanent post for the Tibetan translator is available at the Ministry of Defence. The announcement came along with three posts of Assistant Director Safety at Ministry of Labour and Employment.

The closing date for submission of application is 15th March 2018 and the submitted application will be available for printing till 16th March 2018 as available on the official website of the UPSC and you can verify your eligibility here.

The vacancy for Tibetan translator is suitable for differently-abled person and the desired qualification for the post is bachelor degree in foreign language (Tibetan) with English as a compulsory subject or bachelor degree with English as a compulsory/elective subject with diploma in foreign language (Tibetan). Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

The responsibilities include translation into English of intercepted traffic, recorded tapes and printed material. Perusal & checking of translation work of unit translators, translation of materials received from Military Intelligence Directorate and other sources, preparation of training exercises for languages trained personnel and maintenance of foreign language publication, collation of intelligence information & other allied jobs.

The job will offer a level 10 (56,100 – 1,77,500) pay scale that will be based in New Delhi. According to the announcement, the age limit is 35.
