82 Year Old Tibetan in US Donates $90K for CTA Old Age Welfare

A Tibetan elderly man based in the United States has donated a lump sum of ninety thousand US dollars for the old aged welfare programs through Central Tibetan Administration based in Dharamshala, India. The elderly Tibetan is donating the amount to fulfill His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings of caring for others.

Tenzin Wangyal, an 82 year old Tibetan currently living in New York, US met with the Tibetan President, Dr. Lobsang Sangay who was visiting US. As a part of fulfilling His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings to offer proper care and support for old aged people, Mr. Wangyal has donated the amount to be used for medical expenses of elderly people under the old age welfare programs of CTA.

The Office of Tibet, Washington D.C., through which the elderly Tibetan is presenting his donation, has also acknowledged the receipt of full amount of the donation. The office has also written in their official Facebook page that the generous act from the elderly Tibetan is example of fulfilling the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The Office of Tibet, which also functions as the office of the representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama extended their appreciations to Tenzin Wangyal.

Tenzin Wangyal hails from Minyak in Kham region of Tibet who escaped to exile first to India and later relocated to the United States.
