CTA Official Beaten in an Argument with Taxi Drivers in Dharamshala

A Tibetan man has reportedly suffered injuries from being beaten by a group of local taxi drivers following a scuffle on late Friday night according to the report published by the Phayul news on Sunday. 

While the investigations are going on, the Tibetan man in being treated at Zonal hospital in Dharamshala. The 48 year old Tibetan man, an official of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) according to the report suffered a scuffle with a group of taxi drivers on late Friday night near the T-Building parking in CTA compound, Dharamshala.

“The man was on his way to pick his wife when he ran into verbal argument with taxi drivers at the parking near T-building in CTA compound, ensuing into a skirmish.” said the Phayul report.

The reported added that according to the victim, the beam of his flashlight hit the group, leading to argument and then into a fight. He said he fell on the ground and was kicked around by the men.

The Tibetan man is reported to have lost his consciousness from the beating. But the group had ran away when the man and his wife came back to look for them. When the victim was taken to Delek hospital on the next morning, the police arrived to begin the investigation.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) agent, Mr. Balram Rana, said according to the report suspects a lingering resentment from the confrontation weeks ago against the construction of a gate at the Gangkyi entrance.
