Dalai Lama Condoles Kids Death in School Bus Accident

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has condoled the death of 27 kids in the tragic school bus accident near Dharamsala on Monday evening. His Holiness conveyed his condolences to the families and loved ones of those deceased and termed the incident as a very unfortunate accident.

The official website of Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama stated that in response to reports of a school bus crash not far from Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh where he has lived since 1960, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has written to express his condolences to the Chief Minister, Honorable Jai Ram Thakur.

“I am deeply saddened by reports of yesterday’s bus crash near Nurpur in which 23 of the 27 people who were killed were school children,” he wrote in the letter according to the website. “These children were their families’ pride and joy, their hope for the future, as such children are all across the country. It is a tragedy that they should have died on their way home from school. I would like to offer my condolences to those families who have lost loved ones and to others affected by this unfortunate accident.

“Since Himachal Pradesh has been my home for almost 58 years, I naturally feel an affinity for its people. When incidents like this occur, it is as if a calamity has befallen all of us.” it added.

It is also added that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has made a donation from the Dalai Lama Trust to the Chief Minister’s Fund for relief work as a token of his respect and sympathy. In the end, the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has offered prayers for all concerned.

In a tragic report of a school bus accident, 30 lives have been claimed in the road tragedy that took place near the village of Gurchal on the Nurpur-Chamba highway which is just 100 km away from Dharamsala on Monday. Sadly from the 30 people dead in the accident, 27 of them are report to be school children!
