Sonam Topden Eliminated from Indian Music Reality Show

Tibetan singer who was taking part in the Indian Music Reality show that was streamed by the Amazon Prime Video got eliminated from the show last week. The Tibetan singer who was paired with a DJ in the remix music reality show got eliminated in the second episode of the show.

“While the first episode was an introductory one void of elimination, the second episode bid adieu to the first team of the competition. Singer Sonam Topden –Tenzing and DJ Rink – Snehal Haresh Shah witnessed the first elimination of the show.” said the report in the United News on Saturday.

While the Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Remix’ was the first mega digital reality show, Sonam Topden is the first ever Tibetan singer to take part in such contest. While the show consist of 10 pairs of singers and DJs to perform on their original remixes of Bollywood songs, Sonam and DJ Rink pair was the first to be eliminated from the competition where the winners will be taking a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs.

However the singer speaking to the media expressed his pride in being able to take part on such a platform as a Tibetan singer. Though he was eliminated very early, he acknowledged that it did not came as a surprise for him owing to the fact that he lacked professional background as a singer in contrary to his opponents.

“I just want to say it was a great platform to share the same stage with some of the finest Bollywood singers. And being the first Tibetan to feature on international reality show like this, I really feel proud and I hope my fellow Tibetans also feel the same.” Sonam Topden told according to the Phayul News.

Sonam Topden who’s real name is Tenzin Dhundup is originally from India Manali and is based in Nepal. He gained popularity by singing cover songs in different languages like Tibetan, Hindi, Nepali and English via Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and other social media platforms. He is also known as the first (Tibetan heartthrob) among Tibetans.
