Tibetan Tops M.Com Degree Exam, Awarded Gold Medal

A Tibetan girl has yet again out shined in one of the most prominent universities in India. Young Tibetan girl has topped the Master in Commerce (M.Com) exam and she has been awarded the gold medal for the outstanding result. She is one of the few Tibetan students who have been able to bring such significant results among other students in India.

Miss Deckyi has secured a magnificent 91% marks in Master in Commerce exam of the Sikkim Manipal University conducted last year. The Tibetan girl has secured the first position in the M.Com program of the university. She has been felicitated with the Gold Medal for academic excellence and a certificate declaring her first position in the exam during her batch by the Honourable Governor of Sikkim.

The head of scholarship section of Department of Education, CTA, Ms. Sonam Sangmo has congratulated Ms. Deckyi and said that she is an exemplary role model for the youngsters to study hard to achieve a milestone of success. Deckyi has been a recipient of CTA’s DoE Scholarship for last 6 years funded by German Aids to Tibetans and USAID. She continues to receive a scholarship for her B.Ed education.

Deckyi passed out class XII from CST Mussorie and hails from a remote Tibetan Settlement of Miao.

She is currently pursuing Bachelors in Education from Harkamaya College of Education, Sikkim. She completed B.Com from Teresian Collge, Mysore in Karnataka, according to the report in Tibet.net.
