For An 84 Year Old, My Health is Quite Good Says Dalai Lama

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama during a recent interview while talking about various issues, he replied to the query about his health that for an an 84 year old, his health is quite good. His Holiness spoke on wide-ranging political and spiritual issues to Shishir Gupta of Hindustan Times.

The interviewer when asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama about his health, he replied, “Quite Good… Not very good ….. for an 84-year-old person, quite good. I go for morning walks in Dharamshala also….Here I take around 600 steps each morning in the monastery.

While discussing about the reincarnation of His Holiness, he explained that the Tibetan people should decide whether the institute of Dalai Lama should continue or not. It should be decided in a free country, not inside Tibet, where there is no freedom.

The interview also dealt on whether His Holiness plans to visit US and meet Donald Trump. “I have not travelled to US in the past two years as it is too far and I cannot handle too much physical exertion. So instead of going to the US for treatment, I go to a private hospital in Delhi.”

His Holiness the Dalai Lama when asked if he would ever return to his homeland Tibet, “I am committed to reviewing the ancient Indian knowledge to tackle emotions. For these things freedom is very important. My return to Tibet is of no use if there is no freedom. I prefer this country and this freedom and then I am the longest guest of India.
