Lal Qila Tibetan Market Fire Mishap Victims Receive 1.38 INR Crores From Delhi Govt.

In a more relief to the victims of Lal Qila Tibetan Market Fire Mishap, the state government of Delhi has sanctioned 1.38 crore rupees. The Disaster Management of Delhi government released the relief fund to the Tibetan sweater sellers.

” The state government of Delhi sanctioned INR 1 Crore 38 Lacs on 23 November as relief for the Tibetan sweater sellers who have been affected by a major fire accident at Lal Qila Tibetan refugee market in Delhi on 8 November. The fire gutted all the 138 Tibetan shops in the market, causing extensive financial loss as well as emotional distress to the shopkeepers.” said the report in the official website of Central Tibetan Administration.

The relief fund was sanctioned following an appeal made by the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi and the Tibetan Settlement office, Majnu Ka Tilla.

The 1.38 crore rupees has been sanctioned to distribute 1 lakh INR to the each of 138 families of the affected place.

“Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration expressed its profound gratitude to the state government on behalf of the affected families for the state government’s timely gesture of solidarity.” said the report
