It feels just like yesterday that we had a grand celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday and here we are today in the reality just a day before the 81st birthday of His Holiness, never knowing how a year slid away that swiftly. Tomorrow is the grand day for the large number of people who will be celebrating in the arrival of His Holiness to this world and expressing our gratitude to his efforts for the well-being of all sentient beings.
From the three commitments of life by His Holiness, one commitment is to promote human values and he has spent his whole life in these matters. Over the outnumbering pouring of wishes and gifts to His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his birthday every year, His Holiness made a more realistic and divinely wish from all the well wishers on the very day:
"The best gift for me on my birthday; please keep your own mind, your own heart more compassionate, more spirit of genuine concern for others’ well being. And with that motivation if possible serve others, help others…"
This is what the level His Holiness’s commitment in promotion of human values reach where every possible benchmark is steered towards the well-being of others and the whole world at large.
This message should be well heard and well heeded to by the staunch followers primarily and the general population at large in making the very wish of His Holiness on his birthday intended for the well being of us all come true.
Let us mark the 6th July to be The Dalai Lama Day. Let us make a pledge to at least do one good deed to serve others on this auspicious day and celebrate it.
Happy Birthday To His Holiness the Dalai Lama and let us all celebrate The Dalai Lama Day with a purpose!
Mark this day with one good deed to serve others and pay our gratitude to His Holiness for all his efforts for our well being.
