Two Bombs Found Amid Dalai Lama’s Tight Security

Two bombs have been found at the Bodh Gaya temple gate amid tight security measures set for the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s stay there. Though the two bombs were found in time and move out to a remote area to diffuse, the police do not have an answer as of now and a massive search operation has been launched.

“Two cane bombs of 10 kg each were found at gate number 4 of Bodh Gaya temple late on Friday evening. The bombs are yet to be diffused.” said the report in the Hindu.

According to the reports, the spiritual leader had just finished his daily program of conferring an empowerment ritual and just after retiring for the day, the police official found two bombs at the gate following the occurrence of an explosion like sound from a kitchen on Kalachakara ground.

The bombs were found from the vicinity of the Kalachakra ground during an intensive combing operation by a police team and a burst of thermo flask was found in a kitchen too. Later, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) had taken over security of the temple complex.

Gaya Senior Superintendent of police Garima Mallik confirmed of the news to the local media and informed that massive search operation is going on. In addition His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik too was present at the Bodh Gaya temple on Friday.

Back in the year 2013, a series of explosions at the Mahabodhi temple rendered around five people injured, including two monks then. The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is presently taking a month long stay at the holy place and the government has been arranging tight security measures for his stay there. Thousands of devotees have gathered from around the world to attend the teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama this month.
