A Tibetan origin man who has been arrested on charge of spying for China in Sweden and nearby European states has been convicted by a Swedish court on Friday. Case against the Tibetan man shocked the Tibetan exile community and the convict has now been handed 22 month prison term by the court.

The Tibetan origin man charged of serious espionage in Sweden last week has denied of ever having spied for China on Wednesday. The Tibetan man in a telephone interview with the Radio Free Asia has stated that in contrary to the charges, he never provided information about fellow Tibetan refugees to China.

A Chinese man is reported to have been arrested and charged in Sweden for spying on the Tibetan refugees in the country and around. The mid aged man is charged for infiltrating into Tibetan refugee community in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe to gather details as required by the Chinese government.
