Ok at 83, Dalai Lama is Looking Forward to Living 20 More Years

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama while participating via video conference on “Happiness & Its Causes” organised at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia, His Holiness told that since his physical health is ok at the age of 83, he is looking forward to living another 15, 20 years.

“My physical health, now 83 years and since I am ok, I am looking forward to another 15, 20 years,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama told in the video conference by playfully showing off his teeth while speaking on “Happiness & Its Causes” to a group at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia. His Holiness joined the conference from his residence in Dharamsala, India.

While beginning the conference with the group, the Tibetan spiritual leader began by explaining about the very purpose of our life and the need to keep hope in oneself.

“I believe the very purpose of our life is happiness. Reason… the future is still mysterious things, no guarantee but we live on the basis of hope. Once individuals completely lose hope, that very thinking shortens our life. The worst thing, too much drugs and alcohol, the worst is to suicide. Therefore I truly believe the purpose of life is joyful human life.” told His Holiness in the live stream.

The interaction was mainly based on His Holiness answering to questions raised by the participants of the event in Australia. His Holiness talked about various issues right from the issue of Tibet, his own journey as a refugee since the age of 24 to conflicts, Donald Trump etc.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama concluded the interaction by explaining his three principle commitments of his life, i.e., the sense of oneness of all humanity, inter religious harmony and preservation of Tibetan environment and ecology as well as Tibetan culture of Buddhist knowledge.
