Privacy Policy of WhatsApp goes live: What changes if the update is not accepted

19th May: The revised privacy policy of WhatsApp will be implemented on Saturday. Once serious criticism has been made of the privacy advocates, the immediate message platform has put the deadline to approve the revised privacy policy until 15 May this year. With this deadline, WhatsApp has already shown users who do not accept the privacy policy exactly what will happen.

The Chat application owned by Facebook released an official blog that shows users’ changes when they do not embrace privacy policy.

WhatsApp has stated that the previously listed deadline of 15 May would not prevent users from accessing the instant Messaging application entirely. The company reported that due to the privacy policy change no one would miss the application’s features. Services can, however, be limited to the request.

The application owned by Facebook keeps users reminded of the latest policies on privacy. WhatsApp says that the reminders would gradually become persistent after many weeks.

After users begin to get a persistent alert, the WhatsApp features are restricted before they approve the updates.

WhatsApp users cannot access their chat lists, but users can still respond to incoming phone and video calls. The user can tap them to read or answer a message or call back a missed telephone or video call if alerts are enabled.

After another few weeks, the user cannot accept incoming telephone calls or updates, and WhatsApp stops sending messages and phone calls.

You can export your chat history and download the summary of your account to Android or iPhone. If they don’t approve the update, WhatsApp won’t uninstall their account.

Deleting your account will clear your message history, exclude the user from all WhatsApp groups and remove WhatsApp backups.
