13 Cops On Duty To Guard Dalai Lama Suspended For Negligence In Bodh Gaya

13 police personnel on duty to guard the Tibetan spiritual leader in Bodh Gaya has been suspended for negligence according to the latest reports on Wednesday. Senior superintendent of police of the district is said to have taken the action after those 13 policemen on duty to guard His Holiness the Dalai Lama were not found at their assigned locations.

“Gaya senior superintendent of police Garima Malik, who is monitoring the security arrangements for the Dalai Lama, took the action after the 13 policemen went missing from their assigned positions. The police officer told mediapersons that she will tolerate no lapse in security arrangements for the Nobel Peace Prize winner.” said the report in Hindustan Times today.

The Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is said to have directed the authorities to make additional security arrangement for His Holiness’s month long stay in the state. In order to ensure proper security, security forces from other districts were requisitioned supplement the minimum required force of around 2500 personals at Bodh Gaya, where His Holiness will be stationed for the whole month of January, 2018.

“The Tibetan spiritual leader has been provided Z-plus protection by the Centre as well as the Bihar government during his stay in the state. The step was taken in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Union ministry of home affairs.” added the report.

According to the report, suspended police personnel were identified as sub-inspectors Chhotu Prasad Chaudhary and Mani Bhusan Paswan; assistant sub-inspector Lallan Razak; and constables Vinay Kumar, Prashant Kumar, Upendra Prasad, Ranjan Kumar, Shweta Kumari, Anjali Sharma, Kauleshwar Paswan, Shobha Kumari, Punam Azad and Anjali Asmita.

His Holiness will give a three-day teaching in the mornings between January 5 and 7 at the request of Indians next year and then between January 14 and 16, His Holiness will give a three-day teaching in the mornings. On the morning of the third day, the Mongolian Buddhist devotees will offer a long life offering ceremony (tenshug) to His Holiness at the request Lamyn Gegeen Tenzinjamphelchoijisheinen Tulku.
