Dalai Lama is Fine, India Facilitates His Medical Check Ups at AIIMS

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is completely fine. The government of India has facilitated arrangements for his future medical check ups at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The representative to the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi has explained to the reporters.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday and during the visit he has visited the AIIMS hospital to meet a group of senior doctors. During the visit, His Holiness has not gone for any examinations rather than discussing his recent check up results and health status with the senior doctors. The meeting was important for institute to make their arrangements for any future check ups whenever His Holiness has to visit.

According to Dongchung Ngodup, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at New Delhi has told in the Radio Free Asia report that His Holiness visited the AIIMS for the purpose reasons mentioned above. He has added that His Holiness is doing completely fine and he is scheduled to meeting several people on Friday and the main engagement in New Delhi is scheduled for Saturday; conference with Muslim leaders, “Celebrating Diversity in the Muslim World” at the Indian International Centre (IIC).

Therefore some reports published by other media stating that His Holiness is visiting New Delhi on grounds of deteriorating health conditions is false. Besides, after receiving treatment for a chest problem in April, His Holiness has reiterated that he is confident about the fact that he could live more than 110 years of age. It is also to be taken into consideration that he requires more resting rather than still getting swamp by tight schedules attending various invitations.
