Dharamsala World Tourist Destination Due to Dalai Lama: CM at Modi Rally

The Chief Minister of Himahal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday at the Jan Abhar Rally in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi told that Dharamsala is a world tourist destination today due to Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The Jan Abhar Rally was organized in Dharamsala by the BJP government of the state to celebrate their first anniversary of holding the office. While addressing the huge gathering, the Chief Minister who sought blessings of His Holiness soon after being appointed the CM also took pride in working in a state which is the home to exiled Tibetan spiritual leader.

CM Thakur while thanking the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attending the rally and explain that the Centre had approved developmental projects worth over Rs 9100 crore which helped in accelerating pace of development in the state. The also explained at various government schemes having been implemented successfully in the state.

On an earlier occasion, the CM is reported to have told that a large number of tourists and His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s followers across the world visit Dharamshala every year to seek his blessings, which has brought Dharamshala on world tourist map.

Dharamshala has been the temporal seat of the Tibetan spiritual leader and the Central Tibetan Administration since the beginning of 1960s functioning as the headquarter of the Tibetan movement in exile. His Holiness’s residence is based at the Main Temple in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala which is the center of attraction in the place
