Ladakhi Delegation Meets Dalai Lama, Requests for Visit in Summer

A Ladakhi delegation has called upon the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and requested for his visit to their region in the coming summer. The delegation from Ladakh told that they visited His Holiness on Wednesday and prayed for his visit to Ladakh this summer.

The delegation were from the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) and All Ladakh Gonpa Association (LGA) which included LBA President Tsewang Thinles, LGA President Gelong Shedup Chamba, LBA Vice Presidents, Rinchen Namgyal and P.T Kunzang, General Secretary Sonam Dawa and CWC member Lobzang Stanba.

“At the outset, we on behalf of the entire people of Ladakh and the Himalayan region, express my heartfelt gratitude to Your Holiness for the continued blessings we had in the past years with Your visit and the teachings blessed to the people of this region. Despite of such schedules, Your Holiness compassionately considered blessing us every year- Your Holiness we on behalf of the people of Ladakh, wholeheartedly thank You from the deepest part of my heart for choosing our people and Ladakh for Your summer sojourn,” the letter handed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama by Ladakhi delegation read according to the report in State Times.

“We will ensure your holiness for a complete rest and a peaceful summer sojourn in Ladakh. We do hope your holiness compassionately considers our earnest request,” added the letter appealing on behalf of the people of Ladakh.

While there has not any conclusions from the meeting, it is report that His Holiness has assured of looking at visit Ladakh during this summer. His Holiness the Dalai Lama spend more than a month’s time in Ladakh last year after completing his tour to United States in order to receive a proper rest. However, His Holiness carried out an extensive visits and teachings through out the Buddhist and Muslim populated regions.
