More than A Million Attend Dalai Lama’s Online Teaching

Amid the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, His Holiness the Dalai Lama resort to online teaching to reach his followers. While thousands of followers attended to his online teachings live, millions have viewed his teachings. Within hours of conferring online teachings, thousands of followers viewed the spiritual leader’s teaching video.

Today, the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama conducted second online teachings amid the Coronavirus pandemic. With every country placed under lock down, people are not able to gather or travel. However, it has not stopped their faith and devotion in their spiritual leaders. Led by His Holiness, many spiritual masters are resorting to online teachings in this crisis.

The live webcasts of his teachings in Tibetan, English, Chinese, Hindi, French, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Japanese, Mongolian, Korean, German, Portuguese and Italian on the official websites and Facebook pages of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. While thousands of followers attended the teachings, the largest audience was with the English version of his Facebook page. At least 750K people have viewed his teachings in English version within 12 hours and thousands more in other languages including 300K views of Tibetan version.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s popularity is rising more than ever before. During this Coronavirus pandemic, many people from around world approach the him for lessons to deal with their negative emotions. In such a recent message, His Holiness advised people to use the time during lock down, having difficult time in isolation to practice meditation. He suggests that it would managing anxiety.

His Holiness carried out almost two hour long live teaching today as part of his two days empowerment teaching. The main part of two days Avalokiteshvara Empowerment (chenresig wang) through live webcast will be carried on Saturday morning.
