Tibetan Settlement Receives Record Tenancy Certificate From Govt.

The Mundgod Tibetan settlement receives the Record Tenancy Certificate (RTC) from the government of Karnataka today on the occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to the settlement. This government certificate comes after the implementation of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014 in the Tibetan settlements of the state.

“On December 11, 2017, on the auspicious visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Doeguling Tibetan settlement, Shri. S.S. Nakul, I.A.S. Deputy Commissioner of Karwar Distt presented RTC to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.” said the report in the official website of Central Tibetan Administration today.

Following the implementation of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy (TRP) for the Tibetans in Karnataka in the year 2014, the local Tibetan authorities approached the concerned Karwar District authorities over the period of time and the fruition of the effort came today.

“The Deputy Commissioner said that a simple function will be held at a later date in order to distribute RTC to individual Tibetan farmers of the settlement. His Holiness the Dalai Lama thanked the Deputy Commissioner for providing such benefits to Tibetan farmers.” added the report.

According to the report, the RTC will benefit Tibetan farmers to get all subsidies, grants and schemes from the State Government of Karnataka as well as from the Central Government of India as extended to local Indian farmers.
