RTYC Bangalore, Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, and Bangalore Tibetan Youth Hostel collaborated on this event. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, it was also part of the Central Tibetan Administration’s guideline to refrain from meeting on July 6th to commemorate His Holiness’ birthday.

Kunchok Rinchen, the former president of the RTYC Bangalore chapter, stated that this program was beneficial to needy people in this unprecedented time of the pandemic, and that “we are trying to bring a smile to the faces of poor people on the auspicious occasion of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 86th birthday celebration and certainly to build friendly relations with the local Indian public.” Locals were overjoyed with meals and clothing as a result of this gesture, and they demanded that our volunteers return!
