With More Troops, India China Border Tension Rises Along Tibet

With more troops building up at the border along Ladakh and Tibet, the India China border tension rises. The recent developments of bringing in more troops are heating up the long standing dispute. With the lost of the strategic position of Tibet, border tensions between the two Asian giants have always been a matter of grave concern.

Chinese military is fast increasing the presence of its troops in areas around Pangong Tso lake and Galwan valley along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, sending a clear signal that it was not ready to end its confrontation with the Indian Army anytime soon, people familiar with the situation in the disputed region said.

The situation in eastern Ladakh deteriorated after around 250 Chinese and Indian soldiers were engaged in a violent face-off on the evening of 5 May which spilled over to the next day before the two sides agreed to “disengage” following a meeting at the level of local commanders, according to the PTI report. It was followed by a similar incident in north Sikkim on 9 May.
