Protest rally held in Taiwan, pre-Tibetan Uprising day

Dharamshala, 6th March: As per reports from ANI, Tibetan and other human rights organizations in Taiwan staged a press conference in front of the Parliament in Taipei on March 2 to announce their protest plans for March 10 to commemorate the Tibetan uprising. In China, the oppression of minorities and other dissenting voices has become the standard, and campaigners were arrested even during the Winter Olympics.

The Tibetan Revolt Day(known as Tibetan uprising day), which is commemorated every year on March 10 to remember the 1959 Tibetan peaceful uprising against Communist China’s repression in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, will be the 62nd anniversary this year.

Several Parliamentarians of Taiwan, including ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) MPs Dr. Lin Ching-yi and Hung Sun-han, and New Power Party MP Claire Wang, attended the news conference in addition to the Dalai Lama’s Representative, Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa.

Furthermore, on Saturday, March 5, a large protest march is planned to draw attention to the Chinese Communist Party’s atrocities against Tibetans and other minority groups. On the eve of Tibetan Uprising Day, dozens of people marched to the streets of Taipei on Saturday to protest the Chinese Communist Party’s atrocities against Tibetans and other minorities (CCP).

The demonstrators were heard chanting chants such as “Free Tibet,” “Tibet belongs to Tibetans,” and “Tibet demands human rights,” according to Taiwan Focus.

The Print reports, In his speech, Tenzin Namdak, the President of the Taiwan Tibetan Welfare Association, noted that every year on March 10th, exiled Tibetans all over the world commemorate the rebellion. Namdak slammed China, saying that “communism does not equal China” and that Taiwan should focus more on Tibet-related issues.
