Dalai Lama’s Office Urges to Observe July 6 In Doors for Common Good

The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in a circular has urged the general public to observe July 6 in doors for common good. With the global health crisis caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus, gathering of people in large numbers is serious concern. In a precautionary measure, the office has called for no grand celebrations and gatherings on the upcoming July 6.

In the Tibetan circular, the OHHDL has called off any kind of regular grand celebrations on the 85th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It has urged the general public to observe the special day at their respective homes by reciting prayers for the common good. Gathering of people in large numbers is not possible to the Coronavirus threat and therefore the office has urged people to refrain from carrying out usual activities of the special occasion.

The birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is one of the most special days for the Tibetans and his followers in a calendar year. It is an official holiday for the Tibetans and they celebrate with huge gatherings across the world. However, during the spread of the COVID-19, this year’s celebrations on His Holiness’s birthday will be a new experience for many people.

The spiritual leader has been actively engaged in preaching his teachings during the pandemic with the help of internet. Despite to grim situation of global lock down, his messages of peace, compassion and love have reached millions of devotees across the world via internet.
