Keanu Reeves to Appear at Tibet House Benefit in 2022

Dharamshala, 21st January: The date has been set for the 35th annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert. When the Tibet House supposedly holds its annual benefit concert on March 3, Keanu Reeves, Patti Smith, Trey Anastasio, and Jason Isbell will be among the performers — yes, performers — alongside musicians like Patti Smith, Trey Anastasio, and Jason Isbell. Iggy Pop and Bernard Sumner of New Order will also perform.

For the second year in a running, the event will be streamed live on Mandolin. All proceeds will go to Tibet House in the United States. The event’s poster may be found below, and ticket information can be found at Mandolin. Brittany Howard, Phoebe Bridgers, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, and others performed at the Tibet House US event last year.

The show’s artistic director and curator will be composer Philip Glass, who turns 85 this year. Laurie Anderson, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff, Angélique Kidjo, and the Fiery Furnaces are all on the varied program. During the Livestream event, Iggy Pop and Bernard Sumner of New Order will perform “special welcomes”; tickets are on sale now at Mandolin, with all proceeds benefiting Tibet House US.

The specifics of Reeves’ performance are still unknown, but if it is musical in nature, it will come about two years after the Wyld Stallyns reunited and over 20 years since he played as a bassist in the alternative rock band Dogstar. As proven by Rolling Stone’s piece on “The Tao of Keanu Reeves,” the actor — who once portrayed Prince Siddharta on the big screen in 1993’s Little Buddha — has a long history of being linked to the spiritual and philosophical.

The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted the Tibet House charity concert, in its 35th year, to move from Carnegie Hall to the virtual realm for the second year in a row.
