Nepal Should Not Repeat the Mistake of Tibet Says CM Yogi

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has advised that Nepal should not repeat the mistake of Tibet. In the rising tense situation along the border between India and Nepal, Chinese influence is more visible than ever. Nepal has become recently become very active in raising issues of border disputes with India.

The long-running territorial dispute between India and Nepal has flared over the new Indian-built road to a revered Hindu pilgrimage site of Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet. Nepal says that road passes through its territory and accused India of forced encroachment. Nepal cabinet even endorsed a new map showing disputed territories of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani as its part.

This is being read as the Nepal government working at the behest of the Beijing government to pressurised the New Delhi government. It is can clearly be understood from China’s intensified intrusions into Indian territories along its Tibetan borders.

Nepal has been leaning very closely towards China and its influence in the Himalayan nation has been not shy from public view. While it recently made the outlandish claim that Hong Kong is a part of China, it is coordinating with the Chinese authorities in building road ways and rail networks through Tibet. Such activities of road constructions could have irrevocable consequences for Nepal itself as it happened with Tibet many decades ago.

Speaking exclusively to a select group of journalists, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that India and Nepal may be two political entities, but they have one soul. “The two countries have cultural, historical and mythological links that date back to several centuries and Nepal should remember this,” the CM said according to IANS, advising that Nepal should not report the mistake of Tibet.
