Will Follow as the Indian Government Says: Dalai Lama

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama while speaking to the media in Jammu told that he will follow as the Indian government says. His Holiness mentioned that he along with more than one hundred thousand Tibetans in the country are the guests of India and will follow as India says.

When a journalist asked what the Dalai Lama has to say about the recent diplomatic move from the Central Government of India to avoid the Tibetan event in New Delhi, ultimately leading to withdrawal of the event in New Delhi, His Holiness the Dalai Lama replied, “Oh nothing… whatever the government of India wants, we have to follow because I am guest of Indian government. Not only myself, over I think hundred thousand Tibetans remain here… government of India immense help…”

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the torch bearer of world peace and a Nobel Peace laureate graced the first convocation of the Central University of Jammu on Sunday where he explained in the inaugural address that India’s ancient knowledge is very relevant in today’s world to achieve a peaceful 21st century.

“I want to express special greetings and prayers for people of the State. We should always keep peace of mind and should not let anger overtake us. Anger always brings disaster and prevents us from using our intelligence effectively therefore preventing us from finding solutions to difficult situations” His Holiness the Dalai Lama told to the press on arrival to the state on Saturday.

His Holiness addressed the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) where PhD degrees, PG degrees, gold medals and merit certificates were conferred upon the candidates who had successfully completed their study programmes till the year 2017.
